Typographer, designer, podcaster,
bungleer extraordinaire and self-proclaimed comic artist. What a mouthful.
In real life I have been working the last ten years in Japan as a print designer, typographer, multimedia developer, web designer, video editor, video director, web director, creative director, illustrator/animator, part-time freelancer, usabilitist and manager of the creative department of a larger e-commerce site.
Despite my lack of time I'm runnig a Podcast (in German) about living and working in Japan.
I've always wanted to become a Comic artist, but never had the guts to really go for it (European comics to be specific, I could never get warm with American comic books nor Japanese manga). So now I'm using blogging as an excuse to put my doodles on the Web.
My favourite comic artists are:
Tabary, Gotlib, Franquin, Uderzo, Maëster, Jean Giraud (Moebius), F. Ibáñez, Gilbert Shelton. As you can see not a single German, that's how desperate the situtation about comic art in Germany is.
When I find the time I sometimes post some works as entries for Illustration Friday, or I just put any random doodles in my sketchbook.
